DJ Dizzo, whose real name was Mutambuka Derrick, passed away on December 19, 2024, at the age of 26, after a prolonged battle with cancer. Initially diagnosed in 2018 while in the UK, he was informed by doctors that he would not live beyond July 2022. Despite this prognosis, he defied the odds for over two years.
Dizzo, who had served a nine-year prison sentence in the UK, was released on December 23, 2019, due to good behavior. After his release, his health deteriorated, and he expressed a heartfelt wish to return to Rwanda, his homeland, to spend his final days there. His wish was granted, and he continued to fight his illness courageously until his passing.
His life, marked by resilience and determination, has left a lasting legacy, inspiring many through his strength in the face of adversity.
